Is there a common fix if fuse 12 keeps blowing? I've got an 89 318 touring that has lost fuse 12 twice in the past week. The tach, analog clock, and interior lights don't work when this happens. The radio still works but it may not be on the original loom.

Oh, the speedo quit working a couple of weeks before this started happening, but this is due to the diff plug. Could this cause fuse 12 to blow somehow?

Fuse 12 has nothing to do with the analogue clock or interior lights.

That's what I am reading in the wiki as well but I assure you, replacing the fuse fixes them both. Maybe two wires touching somewhere they shouldnt be then?

Most likely, but that's not going to be an easy thing to fix.

Looks like you need to pull the radio out and see what butchering has been done to the loom. You also need to be systematic in finding out what makes the fuse blow (pushing a switch, revving the engine, etc)

Fuse 21 is for the clock and interior lights. wiring for this fuse, fuse 12 and an earth for them to short to are all present in the standard radio loom, so this is where to start your search.
