I don't think you are likely to release anymore ponies from aftermarket exhaust systems bar the BTB manifold as the stock BMW system was very good, you may infact lose low end torque :?

I can't comment on the sound but I would expect it to be kind of loud. I like the humble raspyness sound of the standard BMW 325i exhaust that is already on your car :o

Those tips look good

Ross - my exhaust had crack in centre box ATM and sounds rough
Hopefully new exhaust will improve things

Very few e30s these days are totally OEM

87mtech - currently my Sport has aftermarket Bosal exhaust fitted by previous owner

I have been behind Barry's Sport - couldn't hear much tbh. Nice tips though. He has BTB2 and New Genuine BMW exhaust

I wouldn't be surprised, aftermarket exhausts are more about looks and being loud than about power.

Did a quick browse of your E30, is it not a standard 3 piece BMW backbox mostly found on pre-facelift 325i sports and Cabs?

Not really sure who makes them but they look and sound nice. They aren't loud just have a nice raspy sound if you listen carefully.

Look forward to the BHP figures once its installed

Downpipe - Genuine BMW
Centre box - Bosal
Rear box - Bosal

Some of the baffles are worn so can be quite vocal! Get a few funny looks too lol :-)

When everyone here's the NA I6 rasp / wail you just think back to the 80s/90s about the last time these things were hustled and properly driven. When having a BMW was a status symbol back then and meant something :-)

E30 has a full system from an E30 M3 as it has 50mm pipes.

Compact has just the rear box and its from an E46 330i, it needed to be from E46 as they are smaller.

Just posted a sound clip on the "is the E36 cool" thread...

After a bit of too-ing and fro-ing I finally for Scorpion to make me a New Scorpion full sports exhaust system with STW tips. This is a "special order" and cannot be returned. I had to give written confirmation. This is 3 piece exhaust system for E30 325i Sport. MY 1987.

After being initially told they don't have any STW tips in stock to they can supply the trim but I would have to get fabricated myself to I have to wait 2-3 months.this is a superb result. Thank you for Kos for giving me a few pointers in what to say. I only have to wait another week longer but that's fine and will be worth the wait. Will be a birthday present to myself :-)

I can most definitely feel it coming "in the air tonight" :-) ....

STW tips will look similar to OEM for that classy, discreet, understated yet powerful look :-)
