If I'm just after the pump / motor itself - is this the thing?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BOSCH-0-580-3 ... 1147142060?

Its listed as a valid part for a BMW 318iS - but for some reason says 136bhp??? winkeye

I'm not sure its available separately from BMW - they only show the whole sender / pump framework which is £275.

I just need the motor / pump part.

Any pointers at an original or OEM replacement appreciated.

Must be NEW.

Full VDO OEM assembly (Same as the ECP part) £176 via USA site.

I'm there next week so could be a winner.

Dunno if its worth the aggro of saving £45 over ECP tho...

Try Rock Auto and use a US zip or else VAT gets added. They are generally very reasonable.
I would be just changing the actual pump, assuming that is the issue. New pumps are readily available on ebay for £40 ish IIRC.

Post some links and I will tell you whether to buy or avoid. Walbro is a well regarded pump manufacturer.

Seller ships overseas apparently, but they don't do Paypal in Poland. So you'll either have to stump up the money for a SWIFT transfer, or you can pay me via Paypal and I'll buy it and post it forward.

Have all your tests confirmed that it is the fuel pump then?

Its not the relay.

Haven't bulbed the pump supply yet but what else can it be...

A break in the wire, such as a poor repair when removing an aftermarket immobiliser, or a rusted/decayed pump plug (since it's exposed to the elements), or some other damage to the wire. Hence the need for the test.

One thing I have learned with these cars and most BMWs is ALWAYS have a spare fuel pump in the garage.
(that and a crank sensor).

Good shout.

That would be where my money would be going. Valeo are a well respected OEM supplier.

You could buy a nice new set of indigo MATZ with the change ! :)

They're NLA Pete.

I hear you on the pump - found a BOSCH one for £75. Gotta stay with the Fatherland I think.

Having fitted a bosch one not that long ago (albeit to an E36) they are the proper job.
