Crankshaft bearing shell sizes

Hi guys

What is the score with the crank shaft bearing shells? Looking at realoem they list 3 different shells per size (yellow, green and white).

What does this relate to?

Found an interesting post by xworks:

But realOEM only lists shells in sets of 6. Am I just going to have to bite the bullet and buy 3 sets of each?
