No, not at all. It's your car so do what you want with it. I just thought that as you have such a good shell to start with it would make sense to restore. Rust is what kills E3s rather than anything else so it would be a shame if this one doesn't survive. Parts are actually easy to find, if you know where to look. There are at least 3 excellent specialists in Germany that I use and of course you can still get lots from dealers too. At a price....rob0r wrote:LOL, maybe I should have stayed out of this thread
I'm still not sure where the drift comment came from, I've got an E30 for that
. Whatever I do with it, the car it was freely advertised before I bought it
I struggled for front wings for sure. I ended up buying two for £150, on first glance they don't look too bad but my body guy says different and I'm in for double the purchase cost after they are sorted. Who are the dealers out of interest?

I just started building up an e3.. plan is air ride, air con, all new wiring, alpine b3 3.3 engine and some other cool stuff, currently going through the tear down process in order to get it blasted as its over 40 years old its going to be needing a bare metal spray

heres a photobucket link to the pics of the teardown (some pics are of stuff I need to remember for reference)

car is from a warm part of France its a LHD, but my mate is a bit weird and only likes to drive LHD old school BMW's.
There are two little holes I found one under each screen, nowt five minutes with the welder cant fix.

The front bumper is still fitted, but not for long I suspect. Loving the retrim..........

The E21 forum is like another version of stanceworks with the same weirdo/hipster mentality.Nas80 wrote:E21s are way better then e30s. For are start e21 owners are very pleasant and well e30zone what do u experience every time you log on?
I can't understand for the life of me why anyone would take a one owner car and do that to it. Lower it perhaps, trim up a pair of Recaros to match the (clearly very good) original blue trim. But airbags and a Stevie Wonder retrim?

Standard ones.. yawn....
A standard E3 is a far superior car to a standard E21 FACT !!!!!
A standard 3.0si would rip the head of a standard 323i and sh1t down its rusty throat ! FACT !!!!
standard e21s are slow.. But at least they aren't as common as e30s and not scene taxed like the 2002.pacerpete wrote:If E21s are / were so great, why do all E21 owners throw EVERYTHING in the bin except the rather homely (and rusty) body ?
Have I driven a properly sorted e3? Yes a standard e3. They arent bad but like most old bmws they have potential to be much better.
It's gonna happen and I'll be back to run your faces in it. And you can cry alllll you like. I'll be sat here laughing my ass off

Don't flatter yourself and think I care. It's only an old boggo 2500 so hardly a loss to the world. If you had chopped up a really nice 3.0si or 3.3lia, I would maybe shed a tear but as long as you stick to scrap that nobody wants, I'm good .
There are few things in life that humour me more than somebody spending 20k to make a 5 turd !
