Stop faffing about , go to Powerflow and get your rupees out !
As the exhaust will be stainless, you do not need £50 of 'tips'
Be sure that you get twin pipes in a reasonable diameter coming straight out with a slash cut finish. None of this rolled/DTM/Lemans sh1te !

No, tech 2's originally had black rolled outward trims but these are now NLA.Kos wrote:When I say straight I mean straight and not pissed

- to look OEM exhaust tail pipes
- to be LOUD and sound like TVR I6
He says will he hard to sound like TVR but he will try his best.
He has quoted me £300-500.
He also says will take about 5 hours.
I will keep u updated

My track car has an aftermarket M3 system on it, god knows what make, but along the lines of powerflow/longlife etc
There is only a rear box and its huge, just about fits in the space next to the wheel well, X pipe up front and it sounds great.

Ok supposed to be getting new exhaust today
I was going to get
Straight through plus back box plus x pipes (to help back pressure on Kos reccomebdation) plus OEM type replica exhaust tail trims
The exhaust guy at top gear power was saying with I6s don't need x pipe just with v8s for back pressure
Mine has no catalytic convertor
For straight through plus back box plus trim = £570 which seems a lot to me
I got him done to £500
Tbh I didn't want to pay more than £400 for custom exhaust
He is proposing keep original down pipe at my request (he was originally going to cut the bend from my down pipe till I told him not to)
then Y piece connected to down pipe
Then straight through
Then rear box with 1 outlet as don't have any with 2 outlets
Then y piece for tail trim
What do u think ????
The exhaust trim options not a great deal
There is one that looks similar to OEM kind of like that I have already
There is AMG type tail trim
There is 2 massive exhausts trim
He charging £500
I told him let me think about it and I left u know end of the day
Scorpion is £560 plus labour
Help!!!!
What do I do ????
Thanks very much

Is he doing a single pipe system and just using up old stock. This is what it sounds like.
As for the x pipe, it helps. This is why alpina systems have them
Typical bullshit powerflow mong dealer.

X pipe is another £100 but he said won't make much difference ?
Which makes the cost £600 .... Should I go with the custom setup or just get a new scorpion which is £560 parts only
Have to order scorpion today to get exhaust done for sat

Another problem with 'custom' systems is all the bends will be crimped rather than a mandrel bend.
This is what i mean....

Standard systems are mandrel and so are Scorpions.
In my opinion its staring you in the face...Get a scorpion!
The sound will be right up your street and wont be as restrictive as the custom lash up...

Just ordered brand new Scorpion exhaust
!!!!
Is full sports exhaust system
3 piece
Patience is not a strong quality of mine
Delivering to my home address
They won't deliver to tyre fitter / exhaust fitter
Hopefully the exhaust will be nice and LOUD ideally ASBO LOUD
I chose Scorpion based on what you said and should be a quality engineering product which custom exhaust may not be.

That is double the price id be expecting to pay for what you saidpony wrote:What do u guys think of the price ???? Too much ????
Get a scorpion, at least if you change your mind you can sell it on with not too much of a loss, that 'custom' single pipe crap will only be worth £50 second hand

X pipe no good for straight 6's?
What a spastic!
As mentioned Alpine use and X pipe and so does the BTB.
Reggid has been playing with the position of his X pipe as even the position can have an effect!

I didn't want to rush into decision
And to have x pipe was another £100
I did hear some of his cars including 4.4 litre V8 X5 from Dubai number plates Generation I with straight through which sounded good
In the end I think a lot of exhaust fitters are cowboys maybe ?
At least scorpion will have been developed by professional engineers and is a quality product (I hope
A lot of people rage about Scorpion and is tried and tested product so may as well see what the fuss is about
With custom exhaust I'll just be another bruv with a custom exhaust
You can always have the nasty tail pipes cut off and some OEM looking ones welded on.
Also, a BTB manifold will bolt straight up to the rear two sections of the three piece scorpion if you decide to go down that route.

My Sport isn't worthy of spending £1k on BTB IMO
The choice of tail pipes trim at the powerflow dealer wasn't great
Suppose I could always get BMW chrome tail pipe trim (E30) which are available from BMW (I checked today) and get them welded on
However, the spacing may or may not be correct

S/H BTB = £500 and will always be worth £500.
You wont be able to weld the chrome BMW tips on. They are for sliding onto steel pipes.

Got a scorpion Le Mans back box on my car, with standard down and center sections, looks great not too big and sounds pretty good, nice raspy tone without being too loud, gives a lovely tone when you open it up, everyone who's ever been in the car has commented it sounds great

Would love to hear what a proper straight through sounds like on 325i
Bit too loud i should imagine, mine is quiet if just going low revs which is nice and get the right sound when you open it up, il get a new genuine back box one day, only kept the scorpion as prev owner bought it brand new so wasn't much point in replacing it
