Its been stuck in 90s limbo forever. But even though I'm a bit biased as I like older shit - a mint ORIGINAL Sport Touring / Sport Coupe are starting to look a handsome thing.

Not yet, but can seem them getting that way Ratch, I have regular use of my brothers 328i Sport, lovely car in every respect compared to my 325i Sport, apart from the looks, and goes really well.

The Touring has always been pretty. I'd have a nice Sport in a flash if there were any.

E36s have suffered HORRENDOUS modding and thrashing abuse - and still are.

NASTY tintz = Check
Type 5z = Check PS I bet a tenner there aint a set of Michelins on them rimz.

'Munching' plate frames = Check. Obviously I cannot see them but you know it will have a set !


E36s were / are great cars for peanuts. A nice one is a very pleasant turd that can be run on a budget if you are any way handy at all. Unfortunately, the amount of molested and scrap ones still in regular use means they are a long way from being cool. Cool turd and good turd being two different things.

The top one is nice, the bottom one isn't. E36's need to be bog standard or OEM. I'm restoring my Compact 318Ti at the mo./ It was a shitty Montreal blue SE of interest to nobody. Now it's Daytona violet after a full strip down doors off repaint (even under the bonnet), full Sport spec with M side strips, M3 bumpers with the proper front bumper grille mesh, Bilstein B8's and Eibachs, orange indicators and an Individual Mulberry grey leather trim. It's a lot of work but worth it as there are so few nice ones left. They guy who painted it also stripped and repainted the correct 16 inch 5 spoke wheels in Titan silver. I've spent another 200 quid on badges, trim bits, wheel centres and even a 'Daytona violet' underbonnet paint sticker.

I'll have to get some pics up when it's completed in December, but here's some in-the-booth gleaming purple epicness:

The E36 is up and coming but the trouble is, they were so modern after the E30 and the E46, E90 and F30 are really just updated E36's - there hasn't been the massive leap forward.

My daily is an Ascot green S plate 318i Touring, ex BMW GB with a/c, sunroof, M Technic suspenders and steering wheel.

I have a 99 T 318i Convertible in Orient blue as well, bog standard on the 16 inch double spokes. 300 quid off the Bay and being tidied up for next spring.

An E36 for every occasion.

There was a green E36 328 Touring on Azevs going lately for top money (had pretty much everything replaced on it though) but at £3.5k you're into decent enough E46 Touring territory!!
