Searching bmw engine diagnose tools e30 to

hello,

I'm looking for an engine diagnose tools tha not very expensive but can work good for e30 to e46 or 2006 bmw car.

I seen some good at ebay but I don't know which is good and can work properly.

I want to learn how to fix and find problem of bmw car by this tools and next I can may be use it to open small semi private garage.

I'm really zero with this tools, but I know some use pc and some use handheld lcd.

From what I know, which isn't much, an E30 is too old for any diagnostics tool to find out anything useful for diagnosing a problem which you couldn't do with a multimeter.
