Hi all, hows things?
Ive got a 320i four door and it had manual windows all round and i decided it would be nice to have electric windows.
I managed to get the loom, motors and glass that i needed.
Stripped all my interior out and fitted the loom, then went and fitted the rear drivers side window and changed it all to electric.
Pressed the button and nothing, fair enough, then fitted the fuse into the fuse box(haha), still nothing.
Got the meter out and there is no 12v to the fuse.
Now im guessing as the car didnt have any electric windows or sunroof at all, im missing a bit more of the loom in the engine bay or something.
Ill post a pic of the connector behind the glovebox so anyone can point me if ive put the grren wires in wrong.
link to pic
Has anyone retro fitted all four windows before, or can anyone shed some light into how I get the feed to the wndows.
If need be, ill just run a feed via a fuse to the wires i need on the loom.
any help will be grreatly apprieciated.
many thanks in advance
Tony

Your connector (green/xxx wire with the white plug) is in the correct socket.
If you don't have power at the fuse then relay K5 is probavly missing.
UK cars with standard electric windows have a little extra loom with a relay mounted near the accessories socket that allows the windows to operate with the doors open and the the ignition off, but this wouldn't stop the windows working.
Rear windows won't work unless both the switches on the console and the door card are in place, and the rear cut out switch is fitted.

All that typing... lol.
I would just find another 12V source. There are 3 on that plug iirc.

Thanks ever so much for the replies.
It does look like im missing the k5 relay.
What i was thinking was now to get a 12v feed onto the loom. Now them green wires in the pic, do i just need to supply them with 12v or somethng else?
I found two spare 12v pins on the connector shown in the picture, could i use them? The pins are the top left pin, and one up and to the left of the lower green wire, both have 12v sitting on them.
Anyone..its getting noisy in the car with no carpet or seats, lol
cheers

What's wrong with fitting a relay in the K5 position?
It's just an ordinary four pin relay; the sort that falls into your pocket or toolbox on any visit to a scrappy.
