So I finally got round to buying a new boot gas strut, only problem is it does not hold the boot up...so I am wondering if the other one was ok...

It seems that my Tech 1 spoiler is too heavy...I only have space 1 strut on the left hand side.

Do I need a non standard bigger load bearing strut?

300N strut for lids with spoiler; 150N strut for those without.
It's all in the ETK!
