It is an amazing transformation and comes at a price! Not very far off some retrim quotes.

Still not sure about a proper renovation v retrim

I would be very wary about leather 'renovation' A hole /rip/ crack is not permanently 'fixed' by filling and gluing it just as a rusty arch is not fixed by bogging it. The repair may look good but how it looks several years down the line may well be a different story :(

What do you guys think of the this:

ER WOW!. thats literally an amazing transformation. almost like new. i suppose if leathers coloured in the first place theres no reason why it cant be repeated. you might consider putting new leather in the bolsters, swapping the passenger seat to the drivers, new foam and restoring the original leather facias like this. havent seen it up close but im totally amazed by this.
The rear seat base in the first link is a bit of a mess. Wrinkles everywhere.

Was under the assumption its the best leather to go for...
One of the places recommended leather from southern Europe. I am not sure if this is true.

To renovate the seat with colour change (including any repair work to bolster) with all the door cards and horse shoe recovered (in vinyl I think) and coloured was around the £1500 mark. This is just an approx figure.

True, the leather needs to be in decent state for renovation.

Agreed but I thought this may be due to the state of the leather seats prior to renovation? My current ones dont have any wrinkles :)

Rav, can Matt update on us on the work carried out in the first link to see how its bearing up ?

Unless you have a near perfect interior for colour transformation then go for it.....if you haven't then go for a quality re-trim.

Painting leather is a mugs game, and is definitely not worth £1500

Last time I spoke to Matt (when he was selling the car), he advised that the drivers seat had started to show signs of wear, this was about a year in.

Haven't heard from Matt for a while, i heard he had sold it.
He paid nowhere near £1500, it was more £550 for the complete job.

That figure also included replacing the vinyl on the doorcards and horseshoe and colour matching to the seats.

i use Sheffield trimming company (kowalskis) in Sheffield. they do a full interior in black for 1000 quid. they mainly specialise in old classics (e types, pagodas etc). they have done custom motorbike recovering for me as well. time served work.
