Had to bite the bullet and buy 2 new front wings from BMW as mine where shagged, they come in a black primer standard from BMW, anyone have any advice on what I should be adding to the back of them before fitting? I was going to scratch the back of them up with a scotchbrite pad then follow up with a few layers of grey zinc primer, followed by something like this

Opinions?

My best advice would be, there is a roll on upol epoxy primer, as good as anything that can be sprayed, follow that up with normal underseal and forget about them.
That will be impervious to pretty much anything.

Get it to a body shop,
you went dealer with parts so go pro with paint
£80 to £100 a panel seems the norm....

The average "body shop" won't do anything to the inside of the panel, in my experience. The most rusted panels (front wings, especially) I've removed from E30s being broken, turn out to be insurance replacements, and often still have the BMW sticker on the inside.slideout318i20 wrote:Get it to a body shop,

A lot of body shops would just get the apprentice to roll the upol epoxy on and shultz them up afterwards anyway, may as well save the cash and do it yourself.

I would prep the inside myself.
