Hey all
Got a weird one for the experts:
My heaters didn't work at speed a while back and I found out the coolant pipes were the wrong way round. So swapping tem fixed it.
However a few weeks later now air flow step 3 does not work at all and step 4 spits out burnt smoke and intermittently goes on and off.
Any ideas?

Your fan motor needs lubricating, and now, because you've left it too long, the heater speed resistor probably needs replacing as well.

Cleaned and lubed mine a while back as it began squeeking, recently its started switching off on position 4. (Randomly at that)Brianmoooore wrote:Your fan motor needs lubricating, and now, because you've left it too long, the heater speed resistor probably needs replacing as well.
Likely to be the same issue with the resistor?
Overloaded or just age?
Seems to be something that's coming up a lot.

Ok pulled it apart today and I have this design http://www.bmminiparts.com/DiagramView. ... MOSP=47288
Which is annoying as I bought the resistor from the other variation where it's underneath.
I can't seem to get my resistor off though, should I just be brutal and yank it off?
