Hi all,

Removing my wiring loom to fix some rust on the bulkhead (not as bad a good as I was expecting, although ask for my view on that when I'm done putting it back in!).

All's fine, except I've come across a wire on the rear seat that I don't know what it does.

It's NOT the ABS sensor - I've disconnected both of those already, this is something else. The photo taken from the side, it looks like there's possibly one on the driver's side too, but I don't remember it being an issue.

On the passenger's side though, I can't see a way to disconnect it, nor do I know where it even goes!

Cheers,
Joe

Could be for an electric aerial (usually in the nearside rear quarter, behind the boot storage trim), or power cable to a sub-woofer/CD-changer in the boot...

If it's the red and white parallel twin that you're asking about, that's a rather sloppily fitted wire to the electric aerial, fitted by the supplying dealer. One end is close to the aerial, the other end is at the accessories socket behind the glovebox.

No, sorry. The red/white one is (was) indeed the aerial cable. The PO did a lot of crappy wiring - I'll rip it all out and redo where needed when I put it back together.

The one I'm trying to highlight goes through the base of the rear seat into a rubber grommet. There's the ABS sensor behind, nearer the back of the car, and in front, there's another grommet going under the car. That's the one I'm confused by. There's no connector either, it just goes right to the OE loom in what looks to be factory wiring.

To LH fuel tank level sender? Look under the round access cover.

Ah, yes. That would seem logical! I assumed the wire ran under the car, but thinking about it, I've never seen any wire under it anyway, so it must be that (325, so 63l tank)

Thanks!
