hi, i'm having trouble with my idle, its revving at 1500 on cold start, and as soon as i touch the throttle it rises to 3000 and then drops to 2000 after a short drive, i have tried moving the throttle position sensor plug and seems to slow down to 1500, but now doesn't change when i try that any comments would be good on that subject.

i have just looked at the ecu and looks like it has chip, i was wondering if anyone could shed any light as to what type it is.

Welcome to the Zone! :)

This Wiki guide may be helpful:

Check that your throttle cable is working as it should, and not binding.

The standard BMW chip has a silver label on with a part number, e.g., 1 267 356 425. An aftermarket chip will usually have a white label with some form of ID code. A photo of it may help us identify it.

Certainly looks like an upgrade chip, possibly one of Ant's (a Zoner). You could try PMing him with the pic and see if he recognises it...
