Does anybody know the actual weight of a 5 speed manuel gearbox from a 1990 316i ?

i've just changed a 320 box which was around 20kg. I would think that all the E30 boxes were pretty mcuh the same.

Dissagree strongly. An M40 Cylinder head is 16.1 Kg (on the post office scales) and i know that the gearboxbox was a lot more weight, as i put it on the back seat of the car for a while. Never did get round to putting it on the scales tho. :roll:
