took engine out yesterday in preparation for new intercooler and on clearing under the car I have found the following 2 items.

First item it looks like it has come out the nose of the gearbox where the guibo locates. It seems like it is press fit with 3 tabs. Is it just a case of pressing back and peening over the edges so it fits tighter or is there a bigger issue that needs sorting whilst out?

2nd item is a bigger mystery and I havent got a clue what it is. Anyone help with this? Obviously could have been something that had been dropped many years ago and never found or something that has come off whilst I wrestled it out?

M30 B32 mated to a M5 Getrag Sport. Also it is turbo'd so was thinking of oil drain restrictor that has been dropped in the past?

Item 2 might be one of the bushes for the exhaust bracket that bolts to the gearbox...

Cheers Danthe, how is this normally fixed or is it just pressed in? I did have a bit of a drag moment as it came out the tunnel so guess it must of pulled it off when I was pulling the engine hopefully no damage done?

Its just pressed on, has a bit of a barb on the inside edge to stop it falling off

hmm nothing left for it to sit on/locate, must have dragged badly on the tunnel when I pulled the engine out 8O

When I looked in the hole there was a few bits of the sound deadining materials inside but got them out with a bit of grease on a stick.

Any ideas, is this now a big problem could something have dropped right in side? Looks like the whole thing needs to come out and a new one pressed in? Or just braze it back on there but more concerned on if I have lost anything inside like metal

The top picture is the retainer washer that goes on the nut of the rear driveshaft on the outer bit.

Nothing to do with the engine

==== Edit====

It looks like what I've said about but on realoem the centre isn't hex shape its circle so not 100%

Last item in the part number list
