I want a stainless back box for my chromie. The original exhaust pipes are at an angle...

Image

I would like the replacement box to look oem just be cleaner and sound better. Does anywhere do stainless boxes with angled pipes or do standard straight tips look alright?

I would like I keep the oem 2 centre pipes also rather then a 2 into 1

Thanks

The original back box for a 325i chromie had straight pipes, well mine does & I bought it new in 1986.

Paul do you want some 15" BBS for yours, looking to have a clear out of frag ?

Got Centre caps and can supply some near new tyres too

Ferg
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

I got quoted £600 for a new two piece system for my 320i. Good value IMO considering the original lasted the best part of 20 years.

BMW no longer make the original pattern two pipe system with two tail pipes, as the original for my car. I replaced my back box this summer & managed to buy the last one of two in the country from ECP, £108. (Manufactured by Klarius Germany). It is identical to the BMW original in all measurements & clamps to the twin pipes rather than welded as BMW one was.
The back box BMW were suggesting was £450ish & did not look as original, ie single tail pipe.
As regards sound, again it sounds identical to my original, yes quietish, but you know it's there, I only drive with the top off so don't want a headache at the end of a drive, I think it's a good compromise.
I have a Westfield & the exhaust outlet is just below my right ear, I wear ear plugs when going out in that, not the same when going for a quiet drive in the Dales or trying to have a conversation with a passenger!
As regards stunning, it is, more than pictures can show. Bought new Aug 86, (one of the first 10 RHD built), all original, panels, paint, mechanicals, interior, hood, spare never been used, rust free, etc. Been out this afternoon for a blat in the Dales, drives like a dream, as new. Just filled it with fuel, averaged 34.2mpg on the last tankful, 21663 miles covered, I've driven everyone of them!

@Minesapint.. That car is awesome. I could do with finding out for sure if mine is angled from standard or not.

@duke.. Cheers ferg but as much as I think everyone on here will hate. I want some dished polished rims. Maybe BBS. I know everyone has them but they do look the business..
