So my sunroof does open but only the whole way, the other way where it pops upwards used to sometimes but not all the time and now it does seem to at all.
It moves upwards as if it's trying to open and the motor makes noises but it doesn't work.
Any help would be great! Cheers[/code]

Remove the motor inspection panel, slacken off the large hexagon nut a couple of turns, take the cranked hexagon key from the tool kit, insert it into the hexagonal hole in the centre of the shaft, and use the crank to try to operate the roof manually. Use a sensible force on the crank, or things might break. If it goes stiff, move it over and back to get it to move on bit by bit. Spray WD40 or similar over anything relevant that you can get it to as you do.
Get it working fully in both directions, and apply grease to the sliders when its open.
To do the job fully and properly, you need to remove the steel panel, dismantle everything, remove the headliner panel, remove the motor assembly, complete with flexible cables, then clean the old grease off of the cables and replace with new, but the above should get it back in working order.
Finally, remove the hex key, tighten up the large nut, and replace the inspection cover.

Not five minutes, no, but it should all be done in ten to fifteen, depending on how stuck it is.
Assist the roof with one hand while turning the crank with the other
