Im surprised you havnt got GKN on speed dialM3SAM wrote:Well Zoners I have broken my first of many halfshafts I only nipped out to get fish and chips in the car. It cost me more than lobster at claridges never mind got home at 1am after i had the car recovered! Dr Demlot thought I had destroyed the motorsport diff but I replaced the shaft Sunday morning and she drove fine.
The biggest problem is that all the new driveshafts are reconditioned scrap that never have the original rotation marked on them so you could be loading up pre-stressed scrap the opposite way!!! GKN no longer make our CVs new they are all just recon core exchange scrap.
I have been looking for a solution from http://www.e30groupa.com/parts.html and http://www.driveshaftshop.com/import-ax ... t-in-axles has anyone on here used either of these or know of anyone who has?
No matey I'm probably going for some Porsche GKN 108mm CV joints, extended hubs, impax steel shafts, custom output flanges and possibly DTM/GRP A rear shock towers...........
These shafts are made from the same steel they use on Boeing landing gear so if I manage to break them I will have to commission NASA to design a solution for me!!!!
All this is going to cost me a fortune so it will probably have to wait until the October lay up!

Those level 5 shafts look proper to me, not much dearer than new BMW supplied stuff either! Im sure ive seen some similar for sale in Australia before, I was tempted myself but couldn't justify it for my measly 280hp
SAP1 The car has taken me 3 years mainly down to a guy saying "I can jig the car no problem matey" the car sat there for 6 months with nothing being done. The guy who painted the car had it for 8 months too he was worried about messing up all the sealer work etc. He had never done a bare shell full body job before but i think he did a good job of my car he only charged me £3.5 including all labour and materials. I had some problems with the first engine FAB gave me too the vanos was rattling like a bitch so they exchanged the engine. All in all its been quite a journey and its still not over yet........
Dan those Aussie PPM shafts are all over the forums for being crap breaking with only 300BHP going through them the level 5 shafts are the ones I'm considering but I've got more homework to do yet!!! Do you fancy a pair I am going to see if they can do a deal on a few sets.

Dr Demlotcrew, Kos, Ajay, Nick and, Alan big thanks to you guys for my overnight digs, photography, mobile assistance and, spare pair of hands this weekend.
Thanks to you gentlemen it was a epic day for me at Gaydon 2014 with loads of great comments from everyone who spoke to me many claiming my car was the car of the show and it looks like a factory job etc. One of the best moments of the weekend was pulling away from Nick in his orange M3 @140mph like he was standing still the look on his face was priceless!!!!
Everyones hard work help and patience really paid off so thanks again to all those who have helped me out! I have or should I say WE have a bit more to do on the beast then maybe we might try and win some trophies with the survivor............

She's kicking out about 500Bhp at the wheels now! The quest is on for more POOOOOOWWWWAAAAAAHHHHHH as Ajay would say!!!
I think we will get to a true 550-580RWHP dyno proven with the factory ECU. I've got a new charger pulley thats as big as a cotton wheel to put on when I go to Storm Developments next week. I also have some custom Denso race plugs for forced induction the plugs alone could yield around 40Bhp they better because they were £40 each!!!

My right foot was buried as we came alongside each other. A quick glance showed the needle (fairly quickly) climbing past 150mph. All i remember after that was a smile and a wave from Sam accelerating away from me like i was parked.

The car is a credit to you Sam, undoubtably one of, if not the finest modded E30 in the country . And to think you started with one of the most f0000ked saddest turds out there, the ex Simon zone mod scrapper . You haven't molested it, you've saved it !
Nice car Sam, very nicely done.

Yes mate she was given the full boob job, heart transplant, skin grafts and, face lift!
It was touch and go if she would pull through but she did! White M3's are special and rare over here I couldn't scrap her! Are you the guy that smashed her up and filled her up with panel sealer and jogged it on?

Tonight I fixed the dodgy fan controller it needed to dry out a bit so by fix I mean plugged the fuses back in after 10 days. Going to Storm Developments for race plugs and smaller charger pulley with final map this Friday on the standard ECU........ Pectel or Syvecs ECU next year so she can be live mapped instead of re-flashing the standard ECU.
P.S. Stand by technicians needed for Santa Pod show must be able to change driveshafts and diffs in 30mins.......
