I got a vw mk2 golf and I am having issues getting it started so far I have changed:
Oil filter
Airfilter
Battery
Fuel filter
Spark plugs
Ignition Coil
Ignition Module
But no no avail, I have asked on the vw forums but Im not getting a response. its a 1.3 carb. How can I tell if the choke is faulty? would this stop the car from not starting? I am at a loss here I really dont know what it is.
Need some help with a vw

Is there petrol getting to the carb ? IIRC you recently done some fuel pipe plumbing .
Assuming you have fuel at the carb, check for spark. One or the other is missing if it will not start. Choke issues will very seldom cause a turd not to start , run badly yes.
I hope you have not changed all of them parts in an attempt to cure a non a starting issue ? Think ofall the stickers and -90mm springs you could have bought !

haha im just trying to get it run there is a sort of fuel resevoir thingy a little pot with the pipes coming out of it ..one from the fuel pump, one that goes to the carb and another one that goes to the in line fuel filter...may of been blocked as with out it the fuel runs out of it ...the lines all seem original with no leaks and dont seem to be tampered with. I have ordered this resevoir/fuel vapour part...i did order a y pipe but it was the wrong size so I hope the new part works...if this fails what else could it be?

Have you actually pulled the feed pipe off that goes to the carb and cranked the engine and seen what happens ? Ideally with a helper and the pipe in a bottle / container to prevent the sorry turd going up in flames, not that that would be a bad thing, by the sound of it !
Throwing new bits at a turd without checking the basics is madness, expensive madness !

Does it turn over ? If not check the earth straps my last mk2 had issues with this.
If it turns over but won't fire and youve checked and changed everything else you may find the distributor is shot. I've had this issue on a mk2 golf and an audi coupe of the same vintage - a good used distributor sorted it.

Fuel and sparks it should fire.
Only reason it wouldn't IMO would be a compression issue.
