Hi.
My Recaros in my E30 have movement back and forth, I have been told this means the rails are worn and that the seats should not have any movement.
I am wondering is there new rails/brackets available or some sort of kit to renew everything?
I also notice they squeak quite a bit.
Thanks.
Seat play/movement normal?

Recaros or BMW sport's seats?
Only thing that normally goes wrong with seat mechanisms is that one of the two screws holding the backs to the hinges on the base works loose, allowing some movement. If this is not sorted quickly, the increased load placed on the other side will crack the seat frame at the hinge.
This can also allow the seat base frame to twist, resulting in only the catch on one runner engaging for the fore/aft adjustment.

As above movement in the rails is unlikely. Movement in the seat back is common.
Raise the seat to its highest setting, put the backrest upright and if it's a 2 door tilt forward, undo the 2 screws that hold the cardboard back on the seat and at the base of each side you will see a big cross head screw. It's very likely this is loose. Tighten up and order should be restored.
