This is a weird one! When I turn my lights on the engine cuts out, and although it starts again there is no power or throttle response and it usually stalls after a few seconds. If I pump the accelerator the revs slowly rise with much popping of the exhaust, and after 5-10 minutes it runs ok again. Anyone have any ideas?

No Idea mate, but did you manage to find out, what your vibration problem was?

What would the prop guibo or subframe bushes have anything to do with the engine cutting out when you turn the lights on?!

I would be looking for a faulty earth,or possibly a poor battery connection, first.

Indeed. Check the engine-to-body earth strap as a first step.

Did they not inspect the car on a ramp, not sure about the bushes but surely a visual inspection could rule out the guibo?Cloggy Saint wrote:I took it to BMW in the end and they said it's either the subframe bushes or the prop' guibo. My money's on the guibo as it's one of the few things I haven't replaced since I've owned the car.
