Rarer early 6L one in mine, the 9L above was latter and carried through the e36s

Says who ? A quick search shows there are 2x 9l for sale on eBay and 4 in completed listings, and just 2 6l in completed listings none currently for sale, making 3 times more 9L ones in recent eBay activity, as a very rough idea

There's pretty much a 9l for sale somewhere whenever you want one but both are nice and rare in terms of actually being in an e30 boot

Petrol goes off, so what is the point in these - unless they are meant to be stored unused, until required, ie, walk to the station when you've run out of fuel, in which case you're either a penniless cretin or a spaz for not putting enough juice in... :? :)

Always good to have some spare juice on board, if you get stuck out in the sticks or on a long journey.

That's my point - you're not going to go on a long drive without sufficient fuel, or are you?

It's possible, if going on a long motorway journey, say, and you get stuck in a hold-up, that you may end up running out of fuel miles away from the nearest petrol station, in which case, you'll be glad that you brought along a jerry can.

Too rare an occurrence to bother with a can.

If you're a paedo type that likes this sort of thing as a morsel on your car, I'm happy with that, but otherwise it's a waste of money and I can think of plenty of other things this cash can be spent on. :)

:) It is also illegal to go on the motorway without sufficient fuel (any delays need to be considered) :P

9 litre cans are much thinner on the ground than 6 litre cans and command more money, FACT :)

Over the years I've had quite a few cans, all 6l, except 1 9ltr. The 6l ones always seem to fetch £60-70, but the 9l got a whopping £110.

Odd one was this 7l one, same design/make as the BMW one but Mercedes, and in grey.
