Hi guys what are your thoughts on this?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-325-2-5-i ... 3a8e9e0bf8[/url]
Its been advertised for awhile, recently price was dropped too.
Question is, is it worth that much?

Sun's shining today,even in Sheffield!
Wait until the end of September, then dive in with a low offer would be my advice.
Car 'looks' OK in the piccie's.but there's no close up shots of the known E30 rust areas.
'Bottletop' wheels and stock ride hieght do not do it many favours either.

"Bottle top wheels and stock ride height" give it every favour in my book! In my experience these kind of things tend to go hand in hand with regular maintenance and proper servicing.
60/40 drop and 'dished avezs' or whatever, all to often accompany ten year old brake fluid and coolant, dodgy ICE 'installs' that are an electrical meltdown waiting to happen, and sizeable quantities of P38.

It's definately had a retrim...might have also been resprayed, if so, probably had arches welded?
Retrim, possible respray, 90k, no bbs, no tech1 kit, assuming no serious rust issues = £3500.00 max is what I would consider paying...

Looks like Brian either did not get his oats last night or got out on the wrong side this morning!
Second thread that he has dis-agreed with me!

I'm under considerable pressure to finish a holiday flat (six month total refit) by next weekend, and am currently disagreeing with everyone!

as a serial cab owner i like it as is. the interior is a bit light for an original one so i reckon its been done up at some point. theres no mention at all of any issues wih the car which is obviously going to be the case when you look it over even if its been restored. its a 3 grand car i reckon. i like the bottletops now, theres a bit of understated cool about this colour and those wheels. surrey gastro pub rather than essex night club.

A tech 1 kit adds no value. They look much better with no kit.Gavla wrote:It's definately had a retrim...might have also been resprayed, if so, probably had arches welded?

I'm always suspicious when no detailed pics of mechanicals are shown.
With any good car you should be proud to show the engine compartment & associated area's in fine detail.
Cheers

On any older car originality is good, and it the case of that one it ties in with the brief history in the description. Itsa a dealer and they tend not to want to deal soley over the internet and prefer potential buyers to actually take a look, hence the lack of photographs of every nook and cranny.

My point of view is that if you like tech1 kits then you will calculate the added cost of fitting one...Blitz wrote:A tech 1 kit adds no value. They look much better with no kit.
I think it would be possible to get more money for a car with a Tech1 kit than without, it's cheaper to take it off than to buy one and fit it...
But they are like marmite...

Quite the contrary.........I've not had enough time to drive it since purchasing it new in 1986, but making up for it now.
