Hello all i recently swapped out my old rusty fuel tank for a new GSF one. After installing i noticed the fuel pump making a sort of buzzing sound. After a quick search most results showed this means its not got much life left however before i swapped over the tanks it was fine and there was no buzzing sound. The car still runs fine so i dont think its anything to do with fitting so im just putting this down to coincidence. Is there anything i should check on the pump itself or should i just get a new one put in? Any experience of how long these last once they are in this state? Car is a 88 325i sport.

Thanks

You haven't kinked any pipes or anything fitting the new tank?

Not that i know of...checked all the connections and they are all straight and connect up without over pulling or stretching the pipes

Check that the bottom of the pump isn't touching the bottom of the tank or the built in swirl pot in the bottom of the tank.
