E30 Vehicle Specification optional extras
Moderator: martauto
Just been looking at a print out of a 325i optional extras from its original order build list. What are please?;
'850 - Additional Fuel'
'681 - Special - Crimson Leather'
(the car came with silver/grey leather upholstery, 0292 also on the order list, so I've got no idea why the reference to crimson leather )

how do we get this up for our own cars?evostormm wrote:Just been looking at a print out of a 325i optional extras from its original order build list. What are please?;

Wasn't that Cardinal Red?Theo325 wrote:I thought that crimson leather was the red option that was available? Seems odd.
If the "Additional Fuel" wasn't a free tank of juice, could be be the long range tank? I'm guessing not really from the description tho.
Was the car an Individual spec E30? Did the build sheet list grey leather in the spec as well? If it did, is the Crimson Leather a type of hide, like Buffalo and Nappa is these days?

I've had the print out directly from my local BMW dealer. As mentioned above it states the upholstery to be silver leather but in the additional options specified it refers to Special - Crimson leather under code 681.
The car is a 1990 325i Touring.

Do you think that the 'crimson leather' is just a stupid bmw name for the style or type of leather trim rather than the colour?evostormm wrote:I've had the print out directly from my local BMW dealer. I have had a few of these print outs for my own cars and found that they list a few standard items on them as well as extras - the additional fuel item listed is probably the factory item number for the 325's larger fuel tank.
e30bemer you are a star, cheers mate

Pete don't care about colour, He would shag a rainbow if he could find the end of it....

I don't think so in so far as the style of seat is the 'comfort' type and the leather is quite normal.Cava wrote:Do you think that the 'crimson leather' is just a stupid bmw name for the style or type of leather trim rather than the colour?evostormm wrote:I've had the print out directly from my local BMW dealer. In regard to the fuel tank if the larger one was standard anyway I wonder why it was referred to on the options list. Anyone else have this?

additional fuel, a bigger tank isnt it?

Checked the sheets for my cars and they seem to have a mix of extras and standard spec items - i think BMW list everything of note as each country has different standard trim / equipment levels.
e.g. they have listed extras like 210 - ABS and 401 electric sunroof, standard items (for the UK) like 481 - bmw sports seats and 215 - power steering and non descript things 320 - no model inscription and 199 - no catalysor!
God i'm bored!

The additional fuel was for the fuel in the tank when these cars left the factory , I cant remember how it worked now but I believe the factory charged the dealer and the dealer passed the cost on to the customer in some way .
I think I'm right in saying that all build sheets of that period will show additional fuel .
Steve .
