Does the OBC display time out after a pre set time after the engine is switched off? (if so how long) or is it meant to go out straight away
Thanks in advance

Goes out strait away, but it wouldn't be rocket science to add a timer.

To be more accurate, the back light for the display should go out when you switch off the ignition. The display should remain, but without the light, can only be seen by looking at it at an acute angle.
Is there a possibility that someone has modified the back light circuit board to accept LEDs, and wired them from a permanent live source?

Hi Brianmoooore
No the wiring hasnt had any modifications that i can see, but it must be picking up a source from somewhere. It is quite faint, and i did think about upgrading to LED but it is visible although faint while looking at it from a normal viewing angle.
So all OBC continue to display information its just the back light that goes out with ignition off. The current draw must be very small, I must admit i didnt check the current levels before and after disconnecting the plug to the OBC
