I have hired this hateful, lumbering piece of plastic for a few days, and there is a button on the Console that is like a capital A in an almost complete circle with an arrow head at the break of the circle, and a matching indicator on the dash. WTF does it mean?
I think that's for an earlier model, but thanks...
There is some form of owners manual on the huge in car display, but unless you can speak Mercedes (which I don't) there's no way of guessing what actual function their high - faluting name tags relate to
Do you mean the engine switch off /restart it does whenever the car stops, which simply does not work in nose to tail, snail hour traffic round my way?
It's an auto, so neutral is electronically, rather than manually engaged, but I shall try deselecting it tomorrow. That would be brucking filliant if you're right. Cheers!
I've got an earlier 61 plate C class 200 CDI Sport auto which I'll be happily waving goodbye to in October.
The button that switches off the hateful stop start crap is labelled ECO on mine. Doesn't seem to do anything to fuel consumption but makes the car dreadful to drive - forever changing up and changing down as there's 7 speeds to choose from - too many. Unfortunately you can't permanently switch it off so have to remember each time you drive it.
Put it in manual out of town and it's much nicer to drive - you can make it hold a gear for more than 10 seconds before changing it's mind again.
