It just turned up !
For your info...
M3 3.0 - 39 mm/rev - the slowest available rack. This is a variable ratio but it is slower than standard until 200 degree's of steering wheel angle.
M3 3.2 and standard E36 - 45.5 mm/rev - the M3 3.2 rack has restricted lock.
Z3 rack - 53.5 mm/rev - by far the quickest rack you can fit.
E46 3.0 turn rack - 50 mm/rev
Our rack - 63mm/revolution
Power steering or non power steering are available, and in LHD or RHD too.
It will be on the car today

Good effort Will. When I looked into this with Quaife a few years ago, they were so uninterested I lost interest myself. Should do well with this

This is quite interesting Will.
Is it a rack from another car made to fit, or have you had new casting and internals made, or is it just a new rack and pinion for a standard BMW rack?
I presume also it's a direct fit?

The cars are on the trailer now and we are on the way home.
The car WILL be fixed and back out for the Nicky Grist stages this sat.
Time to stock up on red bull !!!!
By the way the steering rack itself was great...
The arm snapped by the track rod. At least noboy was hurt and the car is ok (well, easily fixable at least !)
I have lots of onboard video and some photo's from the two cars.

Bit annoying after the amount of hours you were putting in last week! Could have been worse though, good luck getting it sorted for the weekend mate

Is it the 265 or one of their more modern box's? What clutch/flywheel? Have you integrated anything in to the ECU for flat-shifts?

It is a 265 rebuilt with a gear kit. It has a lightweight flywheel and helix 4 puck clutch kit.
The vehicle is not yet running a flat shit set up.
The 2.5 car has a geartronics flat shift system.

Will you be making more of these to sell? I foresee great amounts of people wanting this if the price isnt too steep!

If anybody wants them just contact me
.
I hope to have a few for stock soon yes.
The manual racks aren't too pricey, the power assist racks are obviously a lot more.

How much would you be charging for a rack with PS?

Folks - seems I need to eat a bit of humble pie.... After a loooooong day yesterday and blurry eyes, I mistakenly fired it into Rallyprep thinking that they had sent me the wrong part for my upcoming build. I have deleted that post as it's not fair on Rallyprep to have a bad post on here due to my error.
Will - thanks for getting in touch and resolving so fast - much appreciated and my apologies for any stress.

No problem, it is a minor error and we have all probably done similar at some point. Particularly after a long day it is easy to do.
I was a bit confused as I personally checked that the correct rack was wrapped due to them being easily mistaken. At least you have the correct parts and kindly removed the post.
Top bloke, I look forward to checking out the build thread later on after work !
Speak soon mate
