Hi,

Its damp and feels a bit oily. Power steering fluid level looks OK, I did top up with coolant at the weekend.

New things I've fixed/broke lately:
1. new power steering belt
2. new fan/water pump belt.
3. Was getting a bit hot so I flushed the radiator and put in new coolant.

WIKI says possibly leaking heater valve.

Any ideas greatfully received,
Thanks, :)

Matrix or heater valve yes. Behind the mid section of the center console left hand side.
You can see where the 2 pipes enter from the engine side to give you a better idea.
These two pipes can be bridged together as a temp soultion untill you get your needed parts.

Mark the upper pipe before removal to ensure correct replacement, it's easy to forget and heater won't be efficient if wrongly connected.

Thanks chaps - I guess if I have a look down there it'll be leaking.

Where would you recommend I get new parts from?
Is it a whole unit replacement job or just gaskets and O rings?

Thanks again,
:)

Right, its all in bits now and I've had a good look.

The heater matrix valve is dry and doesn't look like its leaking at all.

However, I've got blue coolant spraying gently out from the air ducts. Mainly on the left hand side where the floor is wet, but there are also some drops on the right hand side too.

Knackered heater matrix?

What should I do next?
Thanks, :(

The top hose is aluminium and the bottom hose that goes into the heater valve is plastic.

There seem to be 2 types of heater matrix available.

Which one do I need?
Many many thanks, :)

Mines the plastic inlet type:

1. C4L £19.20 (inc delivery)
2. ECP £28.80
3. GSF £57.60

Ordered and on its way.

I'll bridge the 2 pipes together as suggested until the new part arrives.
Oh, and mark the top hose with TipEx as suggested too.

Thanks for that, good info :)
