It will be easy and quick to clean, even having spent time in Pete's back passage. I gave it some good protection!diable wrote:Thought about it languishing in Pete's back passage and how much to deduct from the bill to get it cleaned again.

Charged the battery, started it for the first time since April and moved it from one side of the garage to the other.
Then insured it to start at midnight on Friday for an mot on Saturday which I will book tomorrow and once I have that I can tax it on Saturday too.
Also ordered a coolant level sensor to replace one I bought from ecp only a couple of years ago but which seems a to have failed.

Drove it back from France with some help from the channel tunnel train, following a few days blasting through Brittany and Normandy to visit the D Day landing beaches. A recent service saw the car behaving flawlessly throughout the trip.
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

Nothing too exciting. A trip to Cooper Norwich to pick up some clips to re-fix my A Pillar gutter trim before it flies off again! The best £1.50 I've spent, certainly an improvement on the M-Tech gaffer tape that was holding it down earlier in the week. The E30 looked tiny when parked up against all the modern BMW repmobiles in the main dealer car park.
Washed, polished and hoovered. Then a final coating of Autoglym's HD wax. Feckin' crippled now. Those sponge application pads are evil.

Stripped out the old cab interior so that the new one can go in. Richer to the tune of 29p is loose change I found, but there was also about 15 years' of dust and shite under the rear seats. Everything got cleaned and I had good access to the roof mechs so those got greased up.
Then it started raining and everything came to a stop.
Old leather interior including door cards will come up for sale. The front seats are heated (and working) which I thought about removing the elements and reinstalling in the new seats, but I think it's too hard to do, for me anyway.

I had a similar experience at the main dealer the other day. The E30 just looked tiny parked up against all the modern BMW repmobiles in the car park. The new 4 series is huge in comparison.kieran325 wrote:I was more shocked at the size but I suppose 25 yrs on......

Yesterday:
Took the center console out to make sure there wasnt a reverse light wire hiding anywhere, just to find out that there isnt a reverse switch installed at all
Anyway, got the car cleaned a place where the vacuum cleaner rarely comes around. Also removed all that crap audio-wiring the previous owner had put in.
Before:

After:

Today:
I tried on one of the summer wheels, just to see how it looks and how they fit

The spacer might be a bit overkill, and will come off I think

Let me know what you guys think

Wega, your car look great with both set of wheels in my opinion. You might as well keep stripping the interior to look for rust or crap wiring

Took my son out for his first E30 drive yesterday

Just out the garage, then we washed it, and backed it back into it's cave again. Great day
