Tried to start the project this morning for the first time since fitting the engine and its just cranking.

I have fuel at the fuel rail and spark

I removed an alarm that was in the rolling shell when i got it but i'm pretty sure i reconnect the loom as it should be plus i have fuel and spark so dont think its related to the old alarm .

Just looking for a few suggestion try for the next time i get a chance to try again.

The engine has had new cam belt ,dizzy ,rotor arm

Would £10 of fuel in an empty tank be enough?

Any ideas ?

If you have fuel pressure and sparks, then you either have a very serious mechanical fault, or the injectors have lost their 12 volt feed.

Yes, £10 of fuel should be fine. See the Zone Wiki:

You could also try spraying some carb or brake cleaner down in the throttle body while cranking the engine over - this may then draw the fuel through...

Sorted was a semi kinked fuel hose at the filter.

In that case you didn't have fuel pressure, otherwise it would have run.

I was getting fuel out the hose at the fuel rail Brian but not enough by the looks of it .
.I didn't have anything to check the fuel pressure.

In the absence of a gauge, you should try to block the end of the hose with your finger. It should be close to impossible to stop the flow.
