Roof Storage Space//leaks//drainage QUESTIONS

Hi guys,

what exactly are those holes dotted all over the roof storage space if there not needed? .. mine is a manual roof so are they the pick up points for Electric roofs?

I took away the old hagged tape that was covering most of em througn the summer..bad move me thinks,ive spotted some dampness on the boot roof lining (carpet sorta meterial) so im thinking that the water is coming through them holes straight onto that lining..

Never noticed it before but i gave the roof a lil steam clean over the weekend,not much but looks like enough to get water through the sides of the roof/whiskers and into the roof conpartment, and quite a bit by the looks of it..

My questions are where does the water go,there intended to catch water outherwise you wouldnt have the drainage channels/water channels in there,are the drainage holes under the roof holding plates in the corner or the roof storage area? if so where do they drain too so i can unblock em if needed..

I noticed too that i still have a lil bit of water in both corners,its not alot but what troubles me is that its still there and shouldnt it be going somewhere?

This area has been dry and clean for mths now in my car,but tonight ivew found this..i just hope its from me pumping water in there from the sides without me knowing..

i kept looking inside to see if the water was getting inside the car..DOH! .. now i know why i couldnt see any and where it was REALLY going..

any help guys please..i like to get these things sorted ASAP..

K since i started this thread ive been fishing about and from what im reading there isnt any drainage points under the roof fixing brackets ...

if the water IS draining there then there is something wrong as there is holes there but they SHOULD be taped up.. wtf?

thats from a bm tech site and the bloke actually did take his roof completely off to investigate.. so hes gota be right

so are the what i thought were drainage channels just water channels where the little water that COULD get into this area can sit and evaporate?

just a thought but should not all these queries and answers for cab roofs go in technical help rather than have the same queries all the time
