Borrowed a tidy sum from mum and won the bidding on a rather nice engine to swap into my car...Z3 Roadster 3.2

Mmmmmmm..

There'll be tears before any smiles though!!!

It's gonna be soooooooooooo scary to drive. Can't wait.

Gonna have to put off the conversion till I can afford al the other bits I need (not many hopefully).

Just thought I'd share!

Its from a Z roadster.. so a 3.2 five speed.

I'm getting quite excited now.. Not about the money I'm going to have to spend.

Planning to get as many parts from the Z3 as possible to save money etc..

Gonna get the engine, gearbox, prop, diff, engine ancilliaries, engine loom, ecu, piping and pluming, keys+immobiliser(plus little bit the loom to the immobiliser) and anything else I can get at reasonable cost.

Anyone think of anything else?

It's gotta be better/cheaper to get as much of it as possible at once.

It's from a 97 so I guess is an earlier evo 3.2 lump..

Oh well! winkeye

Are these the 327 brake, 258 lb/ft engines?

Anyone think of any ohter bits I haven't thought of?

Can you utilise any suspension parts from it to make the E30 a 5 stud while you're at it...?

Nice. I was chatting with my mate (PBMW Front Cover twice, last one was December & Current RedLine Front Cover car / UBER SUPERCHARGED 5 SERIES) and he was telling me about a blue printed Z3 engine with supercharger that can be adapted for the E30 he was working on. I was well excited, but the price was well out of my price range, so i respect any man who would take on a similar thing

So I've got it home.. Man it's battered. Got the whole car. Will post pictures when I sus out how and where etc.. (same old story - lazy forum user  )

Lots of people are after the rear beam/swingarms but they are battered unfortunately.

Can't wait to start.. Can everyone send me their info if they have any? BigPimpin : Do you have any advice/reccomendations for me?

Thanks for all the input.. Keep it coming!

Was thinking about using it myself...

Is it the same ratio as the quick 1.9 Z3 rack? (I know it reduces lock to lock travel).

errrr, I'm muddling though the conversion so I'm not the best person to ask! I've had lots of very friendly and very helpful advice from JMC330i, Ian332i and Buster.

Good luck, the more Straight Six M3 E30's the better!!
