Just been out for a 2 hr+ run, Yorkshire Dales, part of the route the "Tour" will be taking on Saturday, not far from where I live.
Beautiful drive & countryside, the car ran without a hick-up until 2mls from home & it happened again. Left it alone for 10 mins, started it up coughed & spluttered for 10 secs, & off it went again as though nothing had happened.
I'm still of a mind it's the fuel, a small amount (less than a gallon) of which had been in the car for 14 yrs, I've now put around 9 gallons into it & the problem is definitely lessoning.
Any views on this?
Cheers

Getting the injectors out without removing the inlet manifold should be do-able, but likely to be quite awkward and very fiddly.

Indeed, 14 year old fuel may well have something to do with it - it tends to develop a 'varnish' that could be partially clogging parts of the fuelling system.

So, keep refilling with fresh fuel and drive it more (perhaps conduct a good old 'Italian tune-up', i.e., a damned good thrashing), and it may well clear itself...

Haynes are bloody idiots. You can get the injectors out by disconnecting the fuel lines, then the fuel rail and gently twist them out. I did this with mine and used Injectortune. A brilliant service, highly recommended. Hope all goes well. Cheers, J

Could be condensation water in bottom of tank, might be worth draining tank fully?.
