A friend of mine is selling a complete M52b28 package in his E30 at the moment for a good price and I sort of fancy taking it

Now of course this will result in me selling the engine currently fitted to mine

It will come with

Rebuilt E30 1.8is engine with all new bmw parts used 27k miles ago (was told the engine was rebuild on the car at 105k mile) Nothing to back this up but I don't doubt it I've not changed the oil for 6k miles it hasn't used any and is still clean isn't black.
It goes well and sounds healthy also found the old owner on facebook who done the rebuild who can give more info on the matter ( I don't personally know him he seen me post on an E30 facebook page and got in contact with me)

Has the individual coil pack mod
IS Gearbox with M20 lightened flywheel
New Viscous fan
Chipped ecu (unknown chip)
Full propshaft
Full straight through Exhaust system with dtm style back box
Radiator (although I don't think it's the correct radiator) but correct shroud fitted.
Loom

Still in the car and can be heard running and go out for a test drive until completely satisfied.

The only reason it will be for sale is due to the M52 conversion being offered by a friend nothing wrong with the Engine

I think with the rebuild and everything included the mods plus the exhaust system £550-£600 is a reasonable price but I would of course like the zones input

That is a reasonable price in my view, the challenge will be attracting the right buyer, so a great advert in the right places is the best plan.

Is the gearbox included in that price? it's very fair either way, but in my opinion if an engine or anything in general is being sold above the going rate on the merit of being rebuilt, you have to be able to prove it with receipts for parts and labour or a build thread or something. I'm assuming this is a full rebuild (fresh bottom end and head bearings, honing, possible skim, etc.) and not just a timing gear refresh?

27 thousand miles ago isn't exactly rebuilt or was it just the head ? As the heads can have issues

But without any sort of proof its just hearsay and more so that it wasn't done in your ownership and just what a previous owner said ?

It was 3 owners back who told me that he stripped the full engine and rebuilt it as he fitted a supercharger to it, showed me a videoo on YouTube when it had the charger but that's since been removed he couldn't afford stand alone management or something or lost interest
