Just went through the whole thread and WOW!
BMW dealers must be over the moon every time pony walks through their doors...Although, when you want your car to be 100% perfect, then you hardly have a choice
Nice resto and everything, but like others already suggested, it's not worth restoring a Tech1 to an immaculate condition like this and then drifting it.
Not my business surely, you can do whatever you like, but a bit of advice...
Just look at people who do drifting regularly - their cars are mechanically perfect and that's all what matters. You don't need an illuminated gear knob to go sideways in a corner and inevitably you WILL crash the car (hopefully on track) when drifting, as that's how everyone learns - there's NO other way.
That's why you should get yourself a cheap drifting banger and thrash it as much as you like without worrying about the paintwork getting chipped.
Anyway, well done with all the work, was a nice read
And some inspiration for you:

Update
Thursday about a week and half ago I was changing lanes in Earls Court and this coach chooses to hit the Sport
Me and driver arguing in the street
Yes he came right up in my face
I weren't having any of it
Fuckung recognise
Anyway these are photographs of the damage.
I was pretty pissed off at the time but tbh isn't that bad really.
Coach had minor damage to the front bumper

Prick

I had this wheel arch repainted a few weeks ago.
Enjoy

Just want to keep mine as daily and learn about drifting at DWYB which as far as I understand has plenty of run off and Tarmac
Not looking to enter competitions just learn/master/enjoy drifting and use it everyday when I can
Illuminated gear knob yes not needed but I thought was nice touch as interior is a bit mà nky
PS
I wouldn't say this Sport is immaculate
Is 12 owners, 169k mileage and most of the service history is missing

So, are you claiming from the coach co.'s insurance?
At least the damage isn't too bad, considering a coach hit it.

I will probably only claim if coach insurance company want to claim
I have already told my insurer
I have classic car policy
Otherwise prefer to get done myself
The other car is seperate insurance policy

You don't have any witnesses, I take it? Perhaps you should have asked the passengers on the coach (assuming there were some).

Could have done but don't think they would have seen it
Anyway too late now
Looking at this photograph of him makes me wanna hit him

Well, sorry to say this, but you've told your insurance company about being involved in an accident. No matter what happens from now (even if no claim is made) you will have to declare this upon renewal time
Can your rear end take the reaming the insurance company will give you?
I thought coaches had camera recording? Especially National Express. You could ask for the footage to help/hinder your case?
I dread to think how much your insurance company will be drained if found you are at fault, can't imagine a coach is allowed a simple straightforward paintjob. I'm imagining new panel with paint, fitted by a legit technician and then tested for suitability etc etc...
Also I see yours being written off now
Accidents suck....

I had no choice but to tell them
But only worth claiming if the other company want to go for it
Because damage is not too bad
Don't think would get written off
Is a £10k Sport after all
Just joking about £10k

No offence mate but I don't think you should be drifting anything you care about if you cant even negotiate Earls Courts!
