Could well be crash damage, 70 mph ish through a fence and into a ditch. But wondering if driveshaft broke mid corner or when crashing. If it was impact damage I'd expect splinters not a clean break like it is.

Looking at the arm its bent up massively which is what I imagine has caused the driveshaft to break, if you take the boot off the CV you might get some more clues

Yes all the time.....shafts sit level when the car is on the ground too...
90% of the time its shifting between 1-2/2-3 or launching

Looks like yours gone in a similar place, but mine looks a very clean break.
Unsure if mine is due to a crash, or whether it broke mid corner.
I seemed to have a good line, then suddenly felt like I was drifting on ice and slid into a fence. lol

Was it inside or outside shaft that snapped? As in when you were drifting?
My experience of them snapping the car just stops doing whatever it was doing and I just end up doing a big on wheel burnout

All the broken ones I have had have been clean breaks like yours have shown, the pictured on is a big mangaled as I drove 50 miles home on it

Would be the inside driveshaft, on a left hand corner. So if it snapped mid corner, all power would go to outside wheel, possibly making me skid 4-6 feet wider than normal.

Pics of crash are in my build topic.

Ok, yes i would say it would push the car wider losing a driveshaft, the two i have snapped whilst drifting have made me spin straight away.

Surprised it would have snapped the inside drive shaft though....

Most snaps look like this
