i am furious right about now, i won a item on ebay, couple days ago, been after one for a very long time, but hardly ever come up, and after contacting the guy about collection, he replied by saying he'll be around in the evening, but then few hours later, i get a reply, saying he's sold the item to someone else for a higher price....
what pissed me off, was that i even asked the guy how much he wanted for the item, but he said he would let the auction run, but then after meeting his reserve price, he still sells it to someone else!!!
i have left neg feedback... is there anything ebay would do;ie; ban him some how....or any other way of reporting him

When bidding on car bits or cars I will politely ask the owner what he needs or wants it to go for.
If he says £3-4k and you feel that's overpriced expect the buyer to...
1) Have a friend bid for him
2) Car has been sold etc etc...
Not much you can do about either but asking is a good way to gauge if you should be checking ferry prices

ban the b45tad!
Thats sh!ty man. I hate little scummy people like this..
Chances are the seller hasn't sold it and will either hold onto it, sell it elsewhere, or stupidly realist it.
I agree with Pacer mind, probably best to accept its gone either way.
However, out of principle, I would hound ebay.. Use any forums they have, open up a case against him if you can (but check all the small print on that as I think there's a time scale where it might close the case off from ebay all together after a period if its not resolved), drag it out and the seller down with it.
Check Gumtree too as it might now be up there for sale.

Yes Trevor,
I rang him today after waiting, and he's just called me back, and he's going to find out what happened to it.

The item could have been listed elsewhere, so? really don't see a problem. Other than the OP being crushed by disappointmentGavla wrote:One of the reasons people pull this kind of stunt in the first place...no consequences...bab-91 wrote:or let it go?
Make ebay a better place to trade and do what you can if you have the time to invest.

The last time I read about disappointment on this scale was when Pete lost out on the jewel encrusted 'plug*..

If listed elsewhere the seller should state that in the auction. If not sold outside of ebay by the time the auction ends then whoever wins the auction should get it and the item removed from the other places it is listed. If it is sold then the auction should be ended early.bab-91 wrote:The item could have been listed elsewhere, so? really don't see a problem. Never ceases to amaze me the amount of people who have no problem with it/think it is acceptable to go back on your word for the sake of a few extra £££

theres alot untrustworthy people out there, make promises but dont stick by them...
the ebay username was gvidassi16 and the item was a bbs bodykit...
some may say nothing special but its just the principle... even before the end of auction the guy said, if it doesnt meet the reserve then he'll just hold on to it, but even after meeting the reserve price and trying to arrange pick up, he text later that night, to say hes going to sell it to someone else, as they are giving him more money for it, and doesnt care if he gets a negative feedback for it...
ive been after one for years but they hardly ever come up...

You should open a dispute case with Ebay..

Agree you should make a fuss with ebay but ultimately they won't do anything that will make you feel any better about it. This must happen 100's times per day for them. They'll give him a 'strike' and that will be it.

yeah called them up once i finally found their number, and cut the long story short, they said theyve taken action, but cant exactly tell me what they have done...
due to breaches of their policy they can issue the seller a temp suspension, an indefinite suspension or terminate his account...basically probably just get a warning and thats it...

Rather than call them, you are able to open up a dispute case on line. This can then be tracked in terms of what is being said by you and the guy selling. Ebay will then take a decision based on the responses. At the moment, you're pretty much in the dark as to what is going on, or more importantly, what the seller is telling ebay.

Either way, Shakeel is not getting the bodykit he won fair and square. All that can be done is to leave negative feedback highlighting the dishonesty and greed of the seller. Be careful though, if the feedback you leave is particularly nasty, even if warranted, the scummer can cry ***** stylee to the peeps and it will be removed

Of course your right but its fleabay. I should have said "its to be expected" rather than I don't have a problem with it.
I don't use eBay for selling because I'm the most contrary coont to buy from (or less politely put, I have zero tolerance for D1ck heads) and eBay gives time wasters (d1ck heads) the respect they don't deserve.
I was selling some tech 1 bits locally and had stated clearly that I would NOT accept offers. I believed I had priced the bits fairly and if a potential buyer disagreed they were completely free not to buy the items....(can you tell I don't like parting with my bitz)
A guy rang me and said he would take the items, kept me waiting around the best part of a Saturday afternoon.....
When he eventually arrived, he hmm'ed and ha'ed about the price, wasted more of my time with great yarns about his plans to start building a drift turd, his mate says "you can still buy tech 1 spoilers from BMW" and he thinks he should buy a new one.
He then offered me half the asking price, must have thought he was Mike Brewer.
Anyway, I told him no, not a penny less or a penny more than the asking price. So that was fine, he fooked off down the road empty handed.
Next day, he texts me throughout the day making offers, which I don't reply to. He eventually offers me the full amount....
Did I sell the bitz to him? Did I fook
If that was eBay, I wouldn't have had the freedom to tell that guy to fook aff.
