Cab. wings are made up of two parts spot welded together as standard. If the lower part is serviceable, the spot welds can be drilled out and the bottom piece welded, or even pop riveted, to a standard saloon wing that has had a small amount cut off.
If you're lucky, you can take a scrap cab. wing (accident damage at the front) and a scrap saloon wing (rusted away at the sill), and make an immaculate cab. wing from the two.
The join is covered on the outside by a trim piece, so the join is completely hidden.

oh ok, well my wing has rotted at the bottom, so i can cut the bottom off a saloon wing (where the black trim is) and join the off cut to my cabbie wing?

thanks for the info guys :D

I ordered a pair of new wings from BMW on Tuesday. There were 3 left in the country according to the parts chap so if you're lucky the remaining one might be o/s
