Sometimes - on my E46 the wipers would only work on fast speed until it was coded. Make sure the key buttons are in GWO because you need to press buttons to synch the key to the car. The pre 9/2000 cars have a different module because the later cars with the diamond key use a different module. I'd need the numbers from your old one.DanThe wrote: Let me know if you have one Mr E
Its a Sept 97 build, I knew it was different but it was the only one I could get hold of quickly to try out, AFAIK the only programming is for the remote locking?

The reason for that is the GM also holds the cars chassis number and uses it as an ID on the K-bus/CAN Bus. If the ID does not match, the road speed signal will not be getting to the GM, hence no wipers.

Finally got the original board working again last week, a mate of mine changed all the relays on the pic below, relay 1,2 and 3 first, with no change, then relay 3 and 4, and for the hell of it U2, my board does not have a U1 or U3, this got most of the functions working again, but strangely the rear doors would not release after initially locking. Lots of faffing around over several days later and it turns out some of the relay pins have a track underneath and another on top of the board, the tracks on top of the board are very easy to damage, as we found out, which is why the rear door locks would not unlock.

Just waiting on a can of lacquer to seal up all the soldering work now and it can go back in the case and bolted up out the way
