agree with you on that, you'll find some zoners on here who will claim and say that their 0-60 on their standard 325i's is quicker than the manufacturers figures.m3ben05 wrote:A bit off topic maybe but is it just me that finds 0-60 times are always faster than the manufacturers say they are?

Aren't BMW's figures stated with 3 people and luggage or something stupid like that?

Those figures in the links look very wrong , i wish my 325i kicked out 141kw. So i ran down and looked in my manual, these are the figures the book gives.
316i: 13sec
318i: 11.3 sec (man) 12.6 (auto)
320i: 10.9 sec (man) 12.3 (auto)
325i: 8.8sec (man) 10.1 (auto)
325is: 8.1 sec
All the above is from a South African manual.
cheers

in one of my old performance car mags they timed a red sport at 7.5 secs to 60 so i think 8.6 is debateable

i have amnaged a few 6.8 second 0-60's out of my standard sport
most of the figures are quoted conservativly.....and on old tyres too.....15 years has seen a lot of developments in the way of tyre technology

Not likely, more like poverty spec cars with an egg cup of fuel in them and an anorexic midget behind the wheel. Sometimes they don't even use the clutch when changing gear, just wrench it in. I read all this in Autocar a few years ago, surely BMW wouldn't put themselves at a disadvantage on purpose would they? Doesn't help their sporting credentials much.....Turbo-Brown wrote:Aren't BMW's figures stated with 3 people and luggage or something stupid like that?
