Dash lights

Got in bemmer turned my lights on then I noticed the dash lights want working pulled on the side of the road thinking my head lights weren't working but we're on but no illumination on the dash checked fuses and all good anyone has any idea what could be wrong any help will be helpfull and did pull the dash out this morning to check the bulbs and the are all good I'm confused now?

Exactly what is and is not working?
Number plate lights? Clock? Ash trays? Heater controls? Hazard light switch?
Are you aware that the main lighting switch rotates as a dimmer for the panel lights?

Yh mate I'm aware that it rotates and dims the lights on the clock and hazards switch the number plate lights are working , ashtray , heater is working

In that case the problem is with the cluster itself.
Plugs on the back locked down properly? (black bar).
Bulb holders rotated to their correct position?
Capless bulbs inserted into the holders correctly, with the wire ends lying properly?
Well worn filaments in the bulbs damaged by shock? If they were lit at the time, they might well stay lit until switched off, but fail to light when switched on again.
