hi guys, i'm brand new to the forum and just bought myself an E30 316 as a runaround, as it came up really cheap and have always wanted one of these to have a play in.
One thing, amongst a few other faults im trying to resolve, is the cars speedo reading very inaccurately. Now i'm 95% sure this is due to the wheels fitted on the car, as they are tiny little 14" BBS wheels with low(ish) profile tyres.
The clocks clearly read allot higher speeds than i am actually doing. When sitting at 30, it feels like 15-20mph. When at 70, it feels more like 50mph.
Can anyone confirm my wheels are the cause? What is the standard wheel/tyre size on a 316?

A 316 would most probably have originally had steel wheels with 195/65 x 14" tyres.
