bottle top wheel snides ?

i have a set of four lip-less or flush rim bottle tops here .
every set i've had have had an outer lip apart from these ones which leads to my post .

they are stamped OZ with other various embossed markings/numbers ...did OZ really rip off the bottle top ?

One of my bottle tops has a proud ring where the centre badge is supposed to clip in (not flush to the wheel face like the OEMs), so there are definitely snide versions out there. Why any manufacturer bothered making them is beyond me.

Back in the early 80s factory alloys were a very pricey option, leaving a vacuum to be filled by lots of companies making snides. So Trevor tells me

i once got lumbered with a set of remarkably good BBS 15" snides which had their own unique designed center caps that involved x2 screw fixings ....on a positive note the were heavy

I recall seeing copies of them being advertised in '80s Street Machine/Custom Car magazines, along with a good many other popular wheel styles around at that time - pepperpots, etc.

Did bmw not use different manufacturers to make them, I've had 3 or 4 different ones before, all looked similar but had small differences.
