wiring on body loom

Been sorting out the wiring on a project that's been butchered at some point in its life.

I'm left with one blue/violet wire without a plug one it down by the drivers headlight.

The only thing i can thing its for is hlww can anyone confirm?

Blue/purple in that part of the world would be the screen washer tank level switch.

Thanks Brian that makes sense know.The car was bought as a shell and the screen wash bottle must be from a 4 pot and doesn't have a level senor but its a 325i se shell.
