Hi my mate has a 2007 520d E61 with the M47 motor 6 speed.
Its due a new clutch. Is it a straight forward job or to be avoided at all cost? Any info on times and tools I would be grateful for.

Only tool you need is the clutch alignment tool, and a universal one won't do as its a self adjusting clutch.

Yep, they are the ones Jamie.
As you can see there are different sizes for the different gearbox input shaft sizes.
