Hi people.

My mate and I converted his e30 to an m52b28 a few years back now using the e36 box with m20 flywheels etc.

We both now own E36 323's and want to convert the flywheels on them but have forgotten what you need for it.

What i can remember so far:-

M20 flywheel
M20 Clutch
M20 starter motor

I seem to remember something about a particular release bearing that needs to be used or release bearing arm but cant remember now.

Any help, Danthe maybe?

Cheers

I think it's an E21 323i thrust bearing you use.

Also I believe the flywheel needs machining.

either the flywheel needs shaving or you can grind the tabs off the back of the oil pan. The starter does need to match the flywheel. If you use an M20 single mass clutch setup, you need to use BMW Part number 21511204525 throwout bearing

What's the problem with using the E30 M20 release bearing? I know the E21 bearing is taller, so is it just pedal height/biting point that's affected?

M20 bolts to match the flywheel and its best to use new bolts.
