Cutting out when coming off the power

Got a frustrating problem with the M50 (non Vanos)

when driving and quickly coming off the accelerator down to idle (say coming to a junction/roundabout or a stop) the engine cuts out,

but when i bring the revs down slowly, it's fine
Thought it might of been a faulty ICV but that has been changed and it's still the same,

now i'm thinking TPS..?

but if that was faulty, wouldn't it just cut out no matter how the revs drop?


I cant get "fault codes" due to running VEMS and there doesn't seem to be anything untoward with the settings either.

Anyone had any similar problems ?

mine used to do it when i put my foot on the clutch when coming to a stop and at the same time if the fan kicked in it would kill the engine

worked out what it was, put the ICV on the wrong way round and not done it ever since that was 3 yrs ago
